Although I've had better color results with a few other products, (as well as with professional color), this is the ONLY color that I use now, because it is the only color I have found that gives me complete grey coverage without a FOUL ODOR or scalp irritation. Unlike a semi-permanent, this really covers grey (I'm about 25% grey, with shoulder-length, dark to medium brown hair). Now, a word of warning--I use 5N, which is supposed to be "Light Chestnut Brown" but I have found that the actual color is closer to Medium Brown, especially if I leave it on as long as I have to to completely cover my stubborn greys (about 45 minutes on the roots). SO, here are the pros and cons: PROS: Complete grey coverage (IF you leave it on long enough) No foul odor No ammonia smell Nice soft hair the day after coloring No scalp irritation for me (and I am very sensitive... I ordered the 6 pack of light brown and when I opened the box to do my hair about a month later, I noticed that the actual color inside the box was labeled ash blond. I even opened another box and it was same issue. I sent the company an e-mail, which they replied to with the speed of light. They literally called within minutes of my leaving them an e-mail. It was brought to my attention that the reason the product is discounted is due to a labeling issue. The box and actual dye are consistent; however, the color bottle is mislabeled. I've been dying my hair for the past 2 years and every time I use this color! - Yes, I do bleach my hair but I take really good care of it. The dye does take better to lighter hair. - What I do is go to my hairdresser for her to bleach, and I apply myself later that day (saves money) - I apply this, wrap with foil, blow dry on high heat for about 30 minutes, and then I let it set for about 3 hours. - Every time I have used it the color comes out amazing and vibrant! - I normally have some left over so I mix it in with my shampoo (Herbal essence for color treated hair), and mix it with my conditioner (same brand as shampoo) - The color for me stays in for about a good 2 weeks (Vibrant) and then last me about another 2-3 weeks of a blue tone (I would only wash my hair 2 or 3 days a week since my hair doesn't get greasy fast) - I would defiantly recommend this for anyone who wants to go blue! :) 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you?  Report abuse | Permalink   Comment 10 of 12 people found the following review helpful Variety of shades depending on natural hair!, March 3, 2014 By  Rachel Ithen (Bay Area, CA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase( What's this?) This may be a turn-off for some, but I'm a big fan of blues/teals/greens, so that works for me! When put on the lightest color hair, like a light blonde or even a toned white, it seems to come out as a light blue color with slight hints of green. But it's definitely more in the blue family. When put in a medium-light blonde hair (as I did last year on the ends of my hair), it comes out as a nice turquoise. A happy medium between blue and green. When put on a dark blonde, brassy color (as I just did recently), it comes out as a very green teal color, and fades more green than blue. This jar comes with nothing but the dye itself, so if you need a brush applicator or a mixing bowl or gloves, you'll need to order them separately.
